Most of this stuff is probably covered somewhere on the site, but we figured this would be a nice way for people to get their questions answered all on one page.
That's not really a question, but we figured it would save time for you instead of having to click on something that said "how long are the sessions?".
If you ever need more time you can book more than one session. We can also sometimes do extended sessions (like 60 minutes) if it's the first or last session of the day. In that case, we will prorate the added time.
All of our tutoring is done at our location in Wayne. The address is 121 N. Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087. We are on the top floor, first door on your right.
We also offer online tutoring through Zoom.
This is covered in depth in our policies page, but here's the quick rundown.
In the case of an illness, we ask that you let us know by 11 am at the latest. Otherwise we have to pay the tutor, which means we have to charge. We also ask that you make up the session within 7 days.
Aside from illness, once a session is booked we ask that you give at least 24 hours notice, although we try to ask that you give 3 days notice whenever you can.
Most people prefer to keep a card on file. If you have a set weekly time then we run the card on the first of each month. For people scheduling on an as-needed basis, we will run your card after the session.
You are also welcome to pay in person at the time of your session. For payments in person we accept checks, credit card, or Venmo. We can accept cash, although we almost never have change because it's the future, and nobody carries cash anymore.
Absolutely. You are paying for the time, not the number of people. Fair warning that tutoring with friends or family members can sometimes be a great fit, and sometimes work out terribly. It's important to make sure that you're teaming up with people who want to be as successful as you, or it can be difficult to cover as much material. But if you're a hard working duo then forming a mini-group can be a great way to keep costs down.
